    Unhappy 1995 Dodge caravan sport

If there are any suggestions - we will take them.....we purchased the 95 caravan sport almost 2 yrs ago in the winter (note it was cold here). Problems arose in the summer when it was very hot outside. When driving the van for a few stops or on a long journey and then have to start again within an hour/or two the van stalls, coughs, cuts out, chugs. When/if you get it started it lunges and coughs till you get to a 50/60km speed. Noticed at one point when it was 32F outside that the engine stalled just after the fan cutout. We have had this to 2 mechanic friends - can't find any problems when hooked up to diagnostics (it was hooked up while the van was stalling etc) . We have changed the spark plugs & wires, an oxygen sensor, fuel & air filter. The oil is changed regulary; we are religious about our maintenance. We are truly frustrated and feel we are the only ones with this problem. We travel regularly on 2 hour trips for business and 1/2 way through in traffic it will stall and we have to pull over for a "rest" to cool down. Still no one has found a problem and our mechanic is not about to change everything just to try to find the solution. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

This is a pretty unusual problem. I've got a couple questions.

    1. Does the temperature gauge show any signs of overheating?
    2. Is the fan working correctly? Does it switch on when you are idling with a hot engine?
    3. Does the Check Engine light come on at all?
    4. Which size engine does this van have, if you know?

    1) No gauge always stays normal - that was one of the first things we looked at
    and continue to
    2) Yes and yes
    3) No
    4) i believe its a 3.3

It might be a sign of a failing ignition module. They tend to cause trouble when the engine gets hot.

This would cause it to stall as well?? We will give it a try we are desparately wanting to stop the stalling and chuggin
Today for instance - had a meeting about 35min away on my way back I stopped at a drive through and that's when it stalled about 3 times before i got out of the parking lot and then chugs when trying to accelerate.......but i got home!!

Yes. Ignition failures often cause a car to run roughly and stall.
