Whats wrong with my car audio subwoofers?? quality related...?

I have 2 12" sony explodes. A sony explode head unit. and i forget the amp but i know its not the greatest amp. It is a D4. The subs play fine but the quality isn't that great. The low notes are fine but the high notes are a lot quieter and often are unheard. Overall the notes arn't that clear im pretty sure thats just my subs tho. Is this just the way my subs are or can i fix them by hooking up a capacitor or something? Maybe change a setting on my amp? Please give me some suggestions if you know what your talking about. Thanks it's much appreciated!

Sony explode subs aren't exactly the best known subs. What kind of box are they in. Are they in sealed, ported or bandpass?
    Thats my 2 cents.

your 12'' sony should sound good if you try a ported box 1.75 cubic ft before displacement with a 3'' pipe port .Each sub should be in there own chamber

    Thanks for replying

I think we've been duped. I found the same question posted on the Yahoo Answers forum dated three months ago.

Pajaro was just trying to advertise his links listed in his signature. As a policy hyperlinks in signatures are not allowed unless the poster has a good track record in the forums with at least 50 posts.
