FM/AM Anetenna booster, does it really work?

My cd player's FM reception sucks, it sucks bad. Will an AM/FM antenna booster help?

    Thanks

Its a mini amp. Takes a crappy signal and makes it louder! Haha.

So do companies who make them typically market them as boosting signal quality as well as strength?

I guess in their perspective, "quality" is subjective. Its not making the signal clearer, just louder.

So it's basically "marketeering", like with anything else.
