What time of year is best for buying new/used cars from dealers?

What time of year is best for buying new/used cars from dealers? We are looking into either a quad cab truck or perhaps a family van and I'm wondering when is the best time to try and pick one up to save the most money. Thanks!

spring/summer would be best for a truck, suv,or van as they try and move more of these in fall/winter for more$$ as they are more appealing while snow is on the ground

NOW! The 05's are in , so they want to get rid of the 04's. It will be good for the next few months...the selection of 04's will be pretty small though once the new year comes.

There is one disadvantage to buying an end-of-year model. You're going to have an extra year of depreciation on it. There's no difference in price between one that was sold when they first came out and one the dealer moved off the lot after all the new models came in. This won't be much of a big deal if your plan is to drive it into the ground and don't intend to sell it until it's ready for either the "Cars Under $2000" section of your local paper or the junkyard. But if you plan to trade it in two or three years later, this can come back to bite you.
