    Making a Fiberglass Box

I plan on making a fiberglass box because of the shear weight of a 3/4" MDF box and the space it takes up. I have read some tutorials on it but haven't found anything to answer my questions. Can I make a cardboard template box then fiberglass right over top of it? Or do I need to cover it with a material first? If so what types of materials do you suggest? Does anyone have a link on how to make the sub rings? Also any info on the process is appreciated, like how many coats, or any hints. Its better to ask a lot of questions and know too much than not enough. Thanks

For weight, go use baltic birch or marine grade plywood, better then MDF and cheaper. Fiberglassing is a huge pain. Yeah you can use a template if you want, fiberglass box will cost like tons of money to make. A custom Baltic birch box will be much easier to make. The mounting ring can be made out of like MDF, I am no fiberglass box expert.

Check Tempes links website its under great discussions, he has tutorils on there.

    Thats my 2 cents.
