HELP!!! Which subs should i get???

I have no clue which one of these subs to get. I have narrowed it down to either 2 12in Alpine Type E or 2 12in MTX 6000? Any other suggestions of subs in this price range would be appreciated. I don't want it to be deafening loud, just sound good and not distort, hit hard, and hit lows without distorting. I am going to be putting these in a vented box with the subs running off a Jensen 680 watt amp running 170rms to each sub.

Why not a single tempest instead, that jensen amp probally only stable to 4 ohm in mono anyways so that would work out great. Tempest can take 500 watts no problem.

    Thats my 2 cents.

I need some subs that I can find on Ebay because that is where I want to buy them. I don't think the Shiva's and Tempest's are going to be as popular on Ebay if they even have any on there. Could yall list some positive and negatives of the MTX 6000 and Alpine Type E if yall have had any experience with them.

Why do you want to buy it off ebay. Why dont you buy it from a Authorized dealer new, they have a sale right now with free shipping so its ebay pricing. Also I would compare Shiva and Tempest up wit the Type R subs. I would actually take a Shiva or Tempest over a Type R

I dont like low end subs like the MTX 6000 or the Type E, dont know too much about them.

    Thats my 2 cents.

On Ebay you can get a lot more for your money. I am looking to spend around 125 on Ebay and thats about what two MTX 6000 12in subs are brand new with warranty. I have decided on the MTX 6000, but thanks for your opinions.

If you want a good quality sub at a low cost that wins SPL comps around here in minnesota, check these out! 1600 watt max, so you should have some fun with these.

The reason everyone is suggesting the Shiva and Tempest is that they are very reputable, reliable, and have a great cost vs performance ratio. Look on most any car or home audio forum and you can find dozens of posts that praise these drivers. You just can't get them over at the local Circuit City or Best Buy.

For me its hard to ignore the fact that the Shiva and for sure the Tempest can spank either of those other drivers in overall volume and sound quality.

Get a Tempest and you'll be utterly amazed at what it will do for the $150 you paid. Guaranteed.

Those Absolute USA Revolution subs look like some cheesy knock-off of an Audiobahn. My question is why a company feels the need to hold the magnets in place with plates and bolts, that seems like a waste of time, not to mention a stupid marketing gimick to make people think the sub is any tougher.

The reason is plain and simple why they make it look beefier. It's Absolute's signature design, to make it stand out from others. Gimick or not, they aren't the only ones to make it look like its tougher. Audiobahn does it too, but they make it look hidden by the grill style magnet cover.

The tempest and shiva subs look underground just like Absolute's. I have never heard of those two subs until I registered here. I'd have to hear them to believe them.

Poke around http://www.hometheaterforum.com/ ..... they praise them all the time. Most of these guys are building custom subs setups for home theater systems in the 5k to 10k price range. Heres what one bass nut did. Why get one Shiva when you can do 12 of them in an IB setup. Thats a lotta bass.

I would really like to see what kind of air-flow he has at the throat of that thing, I'm guessing there is a lot of air being moved there.

    Hey Scott,

If you can't afford the Absolutes, look in American HiFi or Rockwood. Same quality. Its all good.
You are NOT your audio logo. It's a means to an end, people!

I can sense the sarcasm. Obviously you haven't ever heard the revolution subs, hence everyone says they are garbage. Buy one and try one, you won't regret it, I guarantee it.

How about you buy me one or send me one, and I will give it a honest review. Put it up against my Vamp 12, Shiva, Tempest, ID 12, Malestrom, Brahma 15, and Blueprint 01 12", and a kenwood cheapo 10" woofer. And I will tell you if its worth the money or not.

    Thats my 2 cebts,

Easy, you're a great salesman, but try not to push Adire on this board as if it were the greatest thing on earth. If he wants to choose between those two subs, let him. I guarantee that he'll be happier with a sub he wants and picked out than a sub he doesn't know and we try to shove down his throat. ;)

Hey Ford, I agree, for some Ignorance is Bliss. And they must be the happiest people in the world. I can just picture the ear-to-ear smile on RCs face when he's rocking out to the beats from his awesome Absolute USA sub. Can't you?

Well its one hell of a product is all I am saying. People just think that being a underground company is a company with nothing but garbage, but you'll never know the truth until you see/try for yourself.

Just two months ago CVStroker, I looked at the company the same way until I tried them out.

Both good points CV and RC, but my point is this: just because you think the subs you run (or sell) happen to be some of the best in the world doesn't stop other people from buying what they want. Same as someone coming on here and saying "RF rules! Only buy RF because they make great stuff!" Subjectivity, even if you have the data to prove it. ;)

Ford I agree with you entirely but that isn't the image I wanted to give out lol. I just hate to see the reaction from someone or hear, when they themselves have NO experience with the brand they say they are against. For example, I could say,"all Mazda's are garbage because their 6000 model is bad because I owned one before, therefore they all suck."

But I am more interested in Adire because no one at our highschool has even heard of them. What makes them tick? (so popular)

The only product I have experience with is the Adire Audio Shiva 12" sub. When I had it in my truck, I was running a 2.5cuf box ported to 30Hz, feeding it around 250W of power. It absolutely rocked! Great SQ, and the SPL was pretty good too. Plus, it fit perfectly into my system without switching amps or setups. Go to their website and look at the specs for any of their car audio gear; I'm eyeing the bad boy Brahma 12 for my next install.
